The Secret Life of Marmalade's Return

Welcome to an private insight to my inner thoughts and feelings for 2010!

(Cue applause)

I love New Year's resolutions. I think because they give you a chance to renew yourself and plan a brand spanking new life each year. My New Year's resolution was to blog for 2010. So, hence, Marmalade's Return. I am banking on the fact that if I 'Dear Diary' every couple of days I am bound to have something extraordinary or profoundly exciting happen to me. Well, that's what The Secret (the book) tells me and you my lucky readers can cash in on knowing it first.

My sidekick project from this blog is to also discuss panic attacks and anxiety in order to defeat my 11 year battle with the angry beast.

29.12.09 New Years Resolution Found!

I’m taking my first step today. A big first step. I’m stepping out into the world to join many millions of people in the world to blog. Yes, I’m joining that group of people I always stereotyped (shame on me!). Sorry, very naughty of me to stereotype, but I always imagined bloggers are mainly uninspired teenagers that write highly intelligent accounts of their days such as, “Today I ate toast. I like toast. My cat eats toast too …blah blah blah…” Riveting! I guess what I didn’t understand is why would anyone want to read about my life. But now, sitting in this sweltering room listening to Norah Jones, reflecting on the year that has passed, I am confident, there is a reason why I should blog.

I’ve decided, my New Year’s resolution will not be a fleeting health kick that’s conveniently forgotten about by mid January. It will be a defining era in my life that will be sustained for the full year. I will stick to my New Year’s resolution! My New Year’s resolution is to blog to the world, an honest and open account of my life which will include my battle with anxiety and panic attacks. I know, not very exciting like Confessions of a Call Girl or Belle de Jour (I can see you all looking at the red x in the right hand corner already). But my intention behind this crazy idea is to continually encourage myself to seek help and by doing so, if one person stumbles across this blog, maybe they too will seek help.

Bloggers, here I come!
